Internship Job Summary:
The PCRB HR Intern supports the HR department with administrative tasks, recruitment processes, and employee relations, gaining practical experience in HR functions and procedures. Our company will provide you hands-on experience to fit your career objectives, evolve and complement your academic studies, and help grow your knowledge base. The paid internship runs for approximately 7 weeks.
Essential Responsibilities:
Administrative Support:
• Maintaining and updating employee records
• Filing and organizing HR documents
• Assisting with data entry, updates and HRIS database management
• Answering employee inquiries and requests
• Executing employees updates in various HR systems
• Benefits Open Enrollment Support
Recruitment Support
• Assisting with job postings and resume screening
• Scheduling interviews and coordinating with candidates
• Participating in the onboarding process for new hires
Employee Relations Support:
• Assisting with employee communication and correspondence
• Supporting HR policies and procedures
• Contributing to training program coordination
• Enforcing company policies and practices
Other Tasks:
• Answering and routing phone calls
• Review and distribute mail accordingly to departments
• Learning about HR practices and procedures
• Participating in HR projects and initiatives
• Developing skills in areas like communication, organization, and problem-solving
• Event support (catering orders, Diversity & Inclusion initiatives.)
Requirements:
Education: Current enrollment in Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required
Experience: No previous experience required, but candidates must express willingness and aptitude to learn new skills quickly and show earnest ability to work both independently and with instruction.
Skills Required: Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office proficiency (Excel, Word, Access and PowerPoint), Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines, Strong attention to detail, HRIS experience (ADP, UKG, Peoplesoft). Effective communication with all levels of the organization.
Work Hours:
Normal PCRB hybrid Flex time is available. Employee must be flexible when needed as projects or deadlines may sometimes necessitate extended hours.
