Calendar-Accident Year Calls

As announced in the PCRB Circular No. 1798, four additional calls will be required on a calendar-accident year basis. The Calendar-Accident Year Calls will be due on April 15, 2024 and during the first year of collection, we will collect five calendar years of data. Calls #1A, 8A, 9A, and 15A will be due for calls valued as of December 31, 2019, December 31, 2020, December 31, 2021, December 31, 2022, and December 31, 2023. These calls will be excluded from the Financial Data Incentive Program (FDIP) for the 2024 call cycle to allow carriers ample time to resolve data reporting issues with PCRB staff.

Instructions: The instructions provided will reference the Calls valued as of 12/31/23 to be reported in 2024. However, the instructions will also be applicable to the Calls valued as of 12/31/19 through those valued as of 12/31/22 that are also due in 2024.

Edit Matrix: We are providing the Edit Matrix applicable to the Calls valued as of 12/31/23 to be reported in 2024. The same edits will be applicable to the 2019 through 2022 Calls with adjustment for the changes in applicable Accident Years.

Template Layouts: The Call #1A, #8A and #9A templates are meant to simulate those that will be downloaded from the FDM once made available in January 2024. Consequently, each of the template files displays the template layout for all five Call years on different tabs within the file. Note that the Call #1A template will not contain Section #3 (Reconciliation) or Ratio Reports. The 2023 Call #15A template simulates the 2023 Call year template which is consistent with those for the 2019 through 2022 Call years. 

All templates for the reporting of data should be downloaded from the FDM once that has been made available.

Additionally, Call #4 - Large Claim Experience by Policy Year will require a new field for Accident Date to be reported.
